Communities with shared interests

There are a number of clubs and associations in Ergersheim and its surrounding area, as well as in the towns of Bad Windsheim and Uffenheim where people with shared interests and hobbies can spend quality time together.

Our annual Mardi Gras festivities during the "Fasching" season are a particularly beloved feature of our region and all those interested will find themselves warmly welcomed by the KarnevalsGesellschaft Windshemia of Bad Windsheim as well as with numerous carnival clubs in the towns and communities of the district!

Historical sites

The towns of Bad Windsheim, Uffenheim, and Rothenburg o. d. Tauber are among the historical and cultural gems our famous wine-growing region has to offer. Medieval castles, picturesque châteaus and a number of museums beckon visitors. Two of the special regional highlights are Walkershofen Castle and Colmberg Fortress. Both offer "nightwatchman" tours led by guides in historical costumes. Bad Windsheim and Rothenburg o. d. Tauber offer similar tours as well.

Those who are interested in military history, will find a visit to the Muna-Museum in Marktbergel inspiring.

Concerts and theater

In addition to regular concert and theater performances, the region offers numerous seminars and classes on a variety of topics, such as those at the KKC Convention Center in Bad Windsheim. Since MEKRA Lang is the main sponsor of the Bad Windsheim open air theater "Freilandtheater", employees qualify for reduced-price tickets. The Kommando Grimm Theater in Ansbach is another theater company sponsored by MEKRA.
Theater aficionados can also delight in the historical settings at the Röttinger Burgfestspiele as well as the Florian-Geyer-Festspiele in Giebelstadt.

Cinema

Movie buffs will experience outstanding cinema in any of the many (open-air) movie theaters in the region.
